Dr. Ashley Sutton, LPC-S, NCC
Greetings! My name is Dr. Ashley Sutton and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas and a Board-Certified National Counselor (NCC). I have over 5 years working with clients in a variety of settings to include correctional facilities, residential treatment centers, and private practice. As a counselor, I empower individuals, couples, or families to overcome personal obstacles to improve their lives. I specialize in assisting clients who are experiencing anxiety and depression. Through counseling, I can help you overcome your challenges.
The approach I primarily use is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Brief Solution Focused Therapy to assist individuals in recognizing how their thoughts and feelings can influence their behavior. I use a variety of techniques to provide an interactive and enjoyable therapeutic experience. I prescribe a strength-based perspective which means working together to find past and present successes and using these to address the challenges currently being faced.
It is my earnest desire to continue to empower the lives of those who are experiencing mental health issues. I approach therapy with humility and respect for the client(s) I am privileged to work with. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling that focuses on helping client(s) understand their areas of difficulty and achieving their goals through collaborative efforts. I would love to help you reach your goals.

Life has a way of knocking the joy of living out of us. Traumatic life experiences cause both mental and emotional distress. The measure of a man or woman is not in how weak or strong he or she is, but in how strong he or she is when, at their weakest moments they are strong enough to reach for help. As a mental health professional, I want you to know that you are not alone and there is always hope and help. I am passionate about working with couples, individuals, and families dealing with a multiplicity of challenges including but not limited to trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, relationship and intimacy issues, depression and anxiety, stress, and substance abuse just to name a few. I work collaboratively with you as you seek to gain optimal mental and emotional health, establish healthy boundaries, maintain positive relationships, and ultimately live your best most authentic self. I have experience working in community counseling centers, private practice, public schools, and county counseling departments. I hold a M. Ed degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I am a member of Texas Counseling Association (TCA) and American Psychological Association (APA).
